Where can I get condoms and lube?

Sexual health services

Many sexual health services have free condoms in a basket at reception. If you can't see any, just ask.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered (LGBT) drop-in centres and projects - usually run by the voluntary sector - often offer free condoms and lube, as do health centres and some young people's drop-in centres.

Be careful what you buy

Be sure you're getting well-known UK or European brands (with CE or kite marks) from a reputable company and make sure any lube you get is water-based or silicon-based.

If you buy condoms in bulk, make sure you check the use-by date.

Lube lasts at least a year, but does go off eventually once opened, so it might be worth getting lots of small bottles or sachets rather than one large bottle. Store lube in a cool, dry place, and if you haven't used it for a while, check the use-by date and smell it before use to check it hasn't gone bad.
